VINTAGE 2023 WRAP UP

Vintage 2023 was off to a slow start, with our first crush 21st February!! Some 2-3 weeks behind historical commencement for the region. After a very wet and challenging growing season, Sunraysia fortunately experienced a much drier and mild harvest period. Which yielded good ripening conditions, the mild weather and cool over night temperatures maintained fruit with fresh crisp acidity, and having managed and tasted each of the parcels throughout fermentation it has been great to see fruit with fresh expressive varietal characters. Gill Estate’s last crush was on April 27th, seeing approximately 1200 tonnes across 10 varieties for Vintage 2023 a step up from the previous vintages, and a tremendous job well done by the entire Gill Estate and harvest teams. We are looking forward to sharing our 2023 vintage wines and we are already well on the way to planning our next exciting wines from Vintage 2024.
